the jatkaproject is situated inside the old town of Cesky Krumlov, dating back to the 14th century. Cesky Krumlov has castle the second largest in the Czech Republic next to that of Prague. In the center of the South Bohemian town almost every building features external decoration - frescoes, and sgraffito (the design is scratched into the plaster, build in Gothic and Renaissance style and aera.

all has been preserved without disturbing reconstruction and as a whole it representmost often visited places in Bohemia (with around 2 million visitors a year). The entire town, including the jatka site, the towns old abittoir, is under UNESCO preservation. Up to the present Cesky Krumlov gives evidence of the rich history and the houses of the important nobles of Rožmberk, who resided here between 1302 and 1600, Eggenberg, to which Krumlov belonged in the last three quarters of the 17th century and Schwanzenberg, who owned the castle in the period between 1719 and 1947.
